There's no such thing as a "Free
Lunch"
This was as open letter mailed to every Business Link, Chamber of
Commerce and similar in the UK.
28th
May 2002
Dear
Sirs
There's
no such thing as a "Free Lunch"
Having
personally worked within both the Retail Sector and within a Recruitment
Consultancy, I realise probably better than most how tight the budgets
of a small business can be, especially one that's either new or
still becoming established. To them, the cost of "traditional"
recruitment advertisements or engaging the services of an agency
can be at best prohibitive. In fact, I found that generally it was
my clients running the smaller businesses that most needed the expertise
that a professional recruiter could bring. Unfortunately, they were
also often the least able to justify and incur the cost involved.
I would therefore like to introduce you to an alternative, www.jobjobbed.com.
Job
Jobbed has been launched this week and is the latest of the new-generation
of interactive recruitment solutions serving the UK. Marketing for
the site has already begun and while predominantly web-based, this
will also include traditional publications as well as features on
digital TV. We wouldn't want you to think this to be a charitable
organisation but the target audience in terms of revenue generation
must be the larger Corporate Clients and Recruitment Agencies that
are best equipped to pay for such services. Meanwhile, it doesn't
actually make much difference who else utilises these facilities,
if fact, the more the merrier! We would therefore like to extend
to your members and associates the use of the vacancy section of
the website on a free of charge basis for at least the next 3 months,
longer still if there is sufficient interest from your members.
(This offer is currently being extended to all UK Business Links,
Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Small Business Gateways, Invest,
Northern Ireland and Business Connect in Wales) Apart from being
a medium for advertising for workers, the Job Jobbed site contains
lots of advice and guidance written from the perspective of a small
business and designed to assist in the recruitment process.
I realise that while this is an exciting time for us, your view
may be that Job Jobbed has potential but lacks a proven track record.
I would not expect to pay for potential and I wouldn't expect you
or your members to either! May I simply invite you and your members
to visit the site at www.jobjobbed.com and register any employment
opportunities which they are looking to fill. Should you have any
questions, please feel free to either call contact or e-mail me
at the address below. Certainly this is no Free Lunch, but I hope
that I have at least given you an appetiser for what is available
to your clients.
Yours
sincerely
Rupert Ellis
